The Dish: The mixed slice kebab consists of the beef, lamb and chicken. Mixture of the meats together with half a pita bread, salad and custom cooked rice. The salad is finised off with home made garlic sauce and chilli sauce.

The serving is good for one person.

Good Points: The best part of this kebab is you get to try all the meats which they have on their menu. The tasty meat is very well marinated. It is a well balance meal, with salad and pita bread. The portion of meat is also generous. Other than the mixed slice kebab, they have other forms of kebab,such as the shish kebab, pide and the common pita roll. They also have turkish deserts and drinks. It is a full pack Turkish restaurant run by turkish chefs, the original taste and flavours. The chefs are friendly, occassionally pulling a joke with customers.

Points to improve: Being located in East Coast, dinner time is quite a hassel to get there due to the jam along the small service roads. Dinner time is usually packed with customers and if your late, you probably have to wait some time to get a seat. Ordering is self service, but they have waiters to serve your food. Food is usually ready in about 10-15mins. The price is acceptable, comparing it to other turkish restaurants in the market today.

This evening's article is about Al Ameen at woodlands. A nice place in the north to have supper and catch up with friends. It is a one stop restaurant serving all types of food. Wester, North Indian, South Indian, Seafood, etc. It is a family restaurant where you can bring your family out here for dinner too.


Good Points: 
The taste of the Briayni Dum is authentic. The style of presentation and cooking is also unique, and preserves the Indian culture in their food. Its as if you are really eating in an Indian store in Little India. The service is fast and efficient. The food is served really hot and fresh, unlike some places they just scoop the rice out of a big pot which could have been there since morning. Here at Al Ameen, they cook the rice and a chicken in a small pot, and served together with the pot!! The meal comes with dhal, an indian curry, and also yoghurt mixed with cucumbers and some fruits. The serving is also filling for a hungry person like me.The toilets are very clean and mordern too, hygiene standards for the toilet is great!!

Points to Improve: The place is quite packed most of the time. The ambience is very similar to urban coffeeshops. The furniture are quite old and very basic, not as appealing as the new coffeeshops which you see, such as Kopitiam or Banquet.

Conclusion: Generally a nice place to dine in, with so many varieties of food to choose from. The service is great, however the ambience could improve with the furnishings. A place I would return to for more food.!!
